LITANY FLAWS

Combining summery synth-pop with R&B vibes, Litany are back with another diamond track ‘Flaws’. The Harrogate pairing of Jake Nicolaides and Beth Cornell sure are in the habit of keeping the listeners waiting, as we documented with their previous comeback single ‘Woman’, which preceded one more track ‘Work This Out’, before Litany retreated into silence once again. Their well-versed combination of party-pop electronics and slinky R&B melodies creates a sense of continuity despite the year long break, and yet you could argue that their sound has become more defined. The production is bolder, opting for heavy bass, buoyant trap and just a smattering of the ‘80s vibe that steeped previous tracks. While vocalist Cornell emanates self certainty and a higher maturity in catchy lines like, “when you gonna grow up and look past everybody else’s flaws?” Litany’s confident comeback has us excited for what they’ll share next. - HT
